"We have a secret in our culture, it is not that birth is painful, it is that women are strong" -Laura S. Harm

I believe birth to be one of the most powerful moments in this life. From the moment I first experienced seeing a precious life starting, I have longed to help other mothers feel as comfortable and confident while embracing Gods greatest gift...

My role as your labor doula is to provide unconditional support...

Emotionally, I wish to encourage and empower you to trust your body and the birth process.

Physically, I provide positioning, breathing exercises, and other comfort techniques.

Spiritually, I strive to lift you up in spirits through prayer, affirmations, and meditation.

Educationally, I will help make sure you have the information you need to make informed decisions during birth.

I believe these key factors will help you have positive, memorable birthing experience. I take pride in my passion and knowledge used in helping families feel comfortable and confident while embracing the worlds greatest gift. & I would love to be there for you…

Statistics have shown by having a Doula present at births...

  • Labors tend to be shorter with fewer complications.

  • Women are less likely to have pain medications, and other medical interventions such as Pitocin, Forceps, Vacuum Extraction, and Cesareans.

  • The chances of Post-partum depression decrease.

  • Breastfeeding tends to be more successful.

What clients are saying

Emily D, First Time Mama

Alyssa was an amazing resource during my long and intense labor and delivery. Leading up to labor, she would check in often to see how I was doing - asking about appointments and had helpful tips for managing stress, aches and pains and mindful affirmations. In addition, she arranged for us to meet a back up doula just in case she was out of town when I went into labor.

During labor and delivery, she was available (and happy!) when I called her at 2am, and came to our house that morning to help me deal with back labor (complete with nausea), offering peppermint essential oils, back rubs, cold washcloths, etc. The day was long (it was 24 hours from first contraction to delivery), and despite a birth center transfer and complications throughout the delivery, I felt the day went so smoothly because Alyssa was there with us. As first-time parents, my husband and I both felt like we couldn't have made it through without her. She even ran home to grab our wallets when we realized we needed to transfer to the hospital (whoops - forgot to pack those in our "go bag"!). She supported me when plans changed throughout the day, and managed to somehow both take pictures of my new baby girl and hold my hand and coach me through some post-delivery complications.

Alyssa truly went above and beyond and I am so grateful for her support, guidance and calm demeanor throughout the most intense, magical, scary and rewarding day of my life. I can't recommend her highly enough!
